The Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) provides operators with a more efficient way to automate, optimize and assure network services across multiple network layers, physical/virtual infrastructure, as well as equipment from multiple vendors.

Next-generation network boundary protection (DDoS security demo with FPx and Deepfield)
See Nokia’s next-generation defense strategy in action, offering cost effective, scalable and adaptable network boundary protection. It combines Nokia Deepfield’s advanced DDoS detection capabilities and Nokia’s FP3/FP4 router silicon advanced filtering capabilities to provide an efficient first line of defense against volumetric DDoS attacks, keeping your network, content and customers safe.

IP/optical cross domain coordination
The new NRC-X module in NSP offers multi-layer traffic engineering. This demonstration shows how the “Cross Domain Coordinator” Web app correlates optical and IP topology to leverage optical characteristics, such as SRLG or latency. The combination of NRC-X and NRC-P also offers a powerful mechanism to coordinate maintenance events across technologies. A further example for the comprehensive IP/optical integration in NSP is a simple solution to interconnect routers over a dynamic optical network. The demo shows how NSP automates this process and how it identifies and reports violations of diversity constraints inside the optical network.

NF-IX – Automation of Network Function Interconnect in Telco Cloud
This demo will use a single NSP API to seamlessly automate transport connections and service bindings between the specified leaf endpoints and TE/Color profile. The transport connection is realized via a SR-TE LSPs that spans multiple domains and may be instantiated via PCEP or via BGP SR-TE policy. The NSP solution will also program the service endpoints and the binding to the connected LSP.

Insight-driven Peer Automation and Multi-AS SR-TE Policy
This demo will showcase the latest on insight-driven automation applied to peer engineering problem space. The focus is on Peering optimization by applying SDN control using NSP and big data analytics using Deepfield. The use cases highlight automation models for controlling BGP inbound traffic by defining and manipulating BGP control policies and they include as well peer engineering based exclusively on latency and performance information automatically measured end-to-end. The demo will also showcase the NSP steering of flow packets to a remote BGP destination over a SR-TE LSP which path includes SIDs of the local domain and the SID of a specific egress eBGP peering link. This can be used in latency based steering application for example and bypasses the FIB lookup at the local ASBR. When the destination is reachable via multiple AS boundaries, flow packets can be steered to an end-to-end SR-TE LSP programmed at the ingress router and which SID list contains both the label for the egress eBGP peering at the boundary of two domains but also the binding SID label which represents the path over the outgoing domain.

Introducing Model Driven Mediation and Control
NSP18.6 introduces the new model-driven (YANG-based) mediation framework. This demo shows the framework including NSP applications to make use of it for both 3rd party IP devices as well as SR-OS devices in model driven mode. The demo will also include the chance to see the new REST/RESTCONF APIs showing how network and service configurations can be made and automated and how using the Kafka bus to obtain object and event state plus connection to real-time Telemetry feeds. Attendees will also have a chance to obtain a demonstration of the new NSP Dev Portal as a unified, one stop shop for all NSP related APIs, tutorials, SDKs, sample code and development support, showcasing NSP Cloud Lab-as-a-Service which enables customers to connect their operations to NSP in the least time at the lowest cost

Enhanced NSP Web Applications and introducing AI to Assurance
Showcases the latest and greatest advancements of NSP Service Fulfilment, assurance, Analytics and infrastructure management applications enabled for any NSP deployment of carrier SDN or network management in IP/MPLS, Ethernet or IP/optical networks as well as for both physical or virtual network domains where applicable.  It also provides a preview of forward looking capabilities which incorporates machine learning concepts and assurance automation. The demo will also showcase the analytics and reporting capabilities of NSP. This includes Application Assurance (AA) reporting for residential, business and mobile domains, as well as network and service (N&S) reporting (e.g. for OAM testing, port throughput, service utilisation, service uptime….).

Control User Plane Separation (CUPS)
With Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS), heavy subscriber signaling is processed by a VNF in the data center which is located centralized in the network while the user plane is brought close to the subscriber. This has 2 main advantages : a/ minimizing e2e delay because it allows for local Internet access. b/ higher throughput as it avoids bottlenecks in the central data center. The user plane can be a VNF in case there is a data center close to the subscriber. Otherwise, the user plane can be based on SR-7 or SR-12 hardware or it can be an appliance running on Airframe servers.

VNO – Virtual Networks Orchestration
Software Defined Networking is taking Network Programmability to a higher level. Nuage as example, offers a complete API, giving access to all its capabilities to set up packet flows across SD-WAN, the Datacenter, and Virtual Private Clouds such as AWS. This programmable connectivity often is required to be extended to IP Appliances instantiated and running as VNFs in the datacenter. This presentation will discuss automation across the full life cycle of end-end Network Services as they live in the cloud, from design, over development, validation, and execution towards the Networks (Nuage, 7750SR, and NSP). The principles of the VNO Design Studio, a framework for Network Service Descriptors authoring and generation, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, will be discussed, as the Studio will become available for Service Providers to develop their own Network Service Descriptors. Use cases discussed will include Dynamic placement of VNFs on NSG-X or Data-Center, dynamic upgrades of Service Chains, and hybrid WAN service chains.
